Progress continues at the FOTAS Community Spay & Neuter Clinic!
- The majority of surgical equipment has been acquired and installation is being finalized.
- A final inventory of donated and procured supplies is being completed and any remaining needed supplies ordered.
- The cat and dog kennels, and large dog runs are in their final stage of assembly.
- The veterinary software and online scheduling system is nearing implementation.
- Surgery protocols and client pre and post-op instructions are being completed using best practices, thanks to the guidance of experienced high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter veterinary clinic experts.
The clinic is in the process of scheduling a limited number of spay/neuter surgeries for the FOTAS Foster Programs and local rescue groups. These surgeries are designed to help optimize the clinic’s operations before it opens to the public and to assist local rescue groups with the critical need for spay/neuter services.
While the start-up of clinic is taking a little longer than initially planned, it is still very much a reality and the FOTAS Community Spay & Neuter Clinic is scheduled to open to the public in late-February 2025. The clinic will be ramping up at the beginning but the online scheduling portal will be live and appointments can be made. We will send an update when the scheduling portal goes live. We know there is a great need for the clinic and community interest has already been overwhelming.
