Give Every Pet a Chance at a Loving Home

Every year in Southern Oregon, thousands of cats and dogs suffer simply because their families can’t afford basic veterinary care. They’re not neglected. They’re loved. But love isn’t always enough when care is out of reach.

That’s where the Family Pet Assistance Fund steps in. Right now every dollar donated to the Family Pet Assistance Fund will be matched – up to the first $25,000. Click here to learn more.

The Problem

  • Many pet owners want to spay or neuter their pets but struggle to afford veterinary care.
  • Unplanned litters happen quickly when pets remain unaltered.
  • Friendly stray cats are often taken in by well-meaning community members who may not have the resources for surgery.
  • Without early intervention, the cycle of overpopulation continues.

The Solution

In March 2025, Friends of the Animals opened the FOTAS Community Spay & Neuter Clinic — a nonprofit clinic in Medford dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable spay and neuter services.
To make care even more accessible, we created the Family Pet Assistance Fund.
  • Helps income-qualified families spay or neuter their pets at a reduced cost.
  • Prevents unplanned litters before they begin.
  • Supports families, rescuers, and community members trying to do the right thing.
Because funding is limited, all applicants are screened to ensure assistance reaches the families and pets who need it most. Income verification and a short application help us prioritize pets at greatest risk of contributing to unplanned litters.

Your donation helps make these surgeries possible.
