How You Make a Difference

Perform safe and efficient sterilization surgeries following our established protocols based off of ASPCA best practice guidelines.

Conduct pre-operative assessments to ensure each animal is ready for surgery.

Manage controlled substances in compliance with safety and legal standards.

Schedule: Monday-Friday and weekends available, with flexible hours based on staff availability.

Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 2:00 – 3:00PM

Oregon DVM license

Ability to perform surgeries efficiently and safely

High-volume spay/neuter experience preferred

Pay: $65.00 – $110.00/hour (based on experience)

Part-Time Surgical Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
Schedule: 2-3 days per week (Monday-Friday)
Pay: $18-$28 per hour (based on experience and CVT certification)

We are a non-profit spay/neuter clinic dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation by providing high-quality, high-volume surgical services. As a trusted community partner, we strive to make spay/neuter procedures accessible and affordable for pet owners.
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Assistant or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and enjoys mentoring others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgery
- Perform surgical prep, including patient induction and positioning
- Oversee extubation and post-operative recovery
- Maintain accurate medical records and surgical documentation
- Supervise and mentor volunteers and trainees
- Assist with instrument sterilization and clinic cleanliness
- Communicate effectively with the veterinary team to ensure optimal patient care
- Lift and handle animals up to 40 pounds
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary facility is required
- Experience as a surgical assistant or CVT in a veterinary setting
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Commitment to patient safety and welfare
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills
