ABOUT
About our parent organization, Friends of the Animals
For more than 30 years, Friends of the Animals (FOTAS) has been providing volunteers to help Shelter animals get adopted faster, while improving the quality of life while they wait. Now, we are also focused on reducing the number of animals entering shelters at all.
Of course, FOTAS will continue to support Shelter animals, but we know the community needs much more.
Our strategic focus has expanded to:
- Spay and neuter options to decrease “accidental litters” through the Friends of the Animals Community Spay & Neuter clinic
- Providing nurturing “homes between homes” before adoption through our Cat & Dog Foster Programs
- Contribute toward pet safety through our vaccination and microchip program
- Continued emotional and physical support of the animals at the Jackson County Animal Shelter
- Create strong partnerships with other rescue organizations
