Family Pet Assistance Fund

The Family Pet Assistance Fund helps income-qualified families spay or neuter their pets when the cost of surgery would otherwise prevent care. The goal of this program is to prevent unplanned litters and help pets remain healthy in the homes that love them.

Because funding is limited, all applicants are screened to ensure assistance reaches the families and pets who need it most.

What to Expect

  • A short application describing your pet and your situation.
  • Verification of income qualification.
  • Approval before scheduling surgery.
  • A reduced cost based on a sliding scale.
Clients are asked to contribute what they reasonably can toward their pet’s care, with a minimum contribution required.

Program Guidelines

This program is intended to assist families experiencing financial hardship and pets that may otherwise remain unaltered due to cost.

Priority is given to mixed-breed pets, adopted animals, and pets obtained through rescue or rehoming.

Pets purchased from breeders or designer dog breeding programs are generally not eligible for this assistance unless exceptional financial hardship can be documented. This helps ensure that limited assistance funds are directed toward families and pets with the greatest need.

Assistance is limited and not guaranteed.

If you do not qualify for the Family Pet Assistance Fund, affordable spay and neuter services are available through our regular clinic pricing.

In some cases, cats that qualify for this program may be considered community cats. When appropriate, these cats will receive an ear tip at the time of surgery.

Ear tipping is a small, humane procedure performed while your cat is under anesthesia. It serves as a universal visual indicator that a cat has already been spayed or neutered, which helps prevent unnecessary trapping, repeat surgeries, and stress for the animal.
